I found a great top ten from a collaborator of Ricky Gervais. Don't know what else to call the guy, never heard of him before. It's a funny list though. Here's a link to check out.
He has some highly questionable entries, the least of which is Speed Racer. Course, I'm excited to fully watch Speed Racer, but it looks on par with The Spirit, so that's just my twisted taste.
It got me thinking of my own top ten for 2008. Except there aren't 10 so far. At least four entries on the aforementioned list shouldn't be on a top ten. Going over what I've seen this year, I couldn't find ten movies to put on the list.
Regardless, here it is so far. It does not follow the Drake Factor scoring.
1. Dark Knight - requires no explanation
2. Slumdog Millionaire - it's nice to have a happy ending now and then
3. The Wrestler - just for the wrestling scenes and Rourke
4. Milk - great performances and moving
5. Wall-E - visual excellence
6. Forgetting Sarah Marshall - Mila Kunis is really smart
7. Iron Man - great year for RDJ
8. Tropic Thunder - REALLY great year
9. Synecdoche, NY - I'll probably never see it again, but it was a trip.
10. W. - it was new to me
